In an article in the Japan Times the Japanese Supreme Court ruled to give Japanese citizenship to children of a Philippine woman and a Japanese man. The children were born out of wedlock and were not recognized as Japanese since the couple was not married. The quote in the paper (from the Supreme Court judge) is as follows: “It is a great discrimination to deny nationality to these children based on the fact that their parents are not married. Such conditions can not be controlled by the children”. My son is being used as a pawn by his angry and bitter mother. His human rights are being violated. He is being denied access to me. His mother has taken him to Kumamoto about 1000 kilometer from where we were living. She did not tell me about this move and for 6 months I had no idea where my son was and I had no contact with him during that time. It is not my son’s fault this is happening. These conditions are beyond his control yet he and I are being punished. We need someone to stand up for us so we can be heard. We need the Diet members to act now. The well-being and lives of so many children are in your hands.
My wife and I have been separated for almost 2 years now. We have tried to settle things out of court but our ideas on how often I can see my son are very different. She refuses to let me see him more than once a month. I would have moved to Kumamoto (to be closer to my son) a long time ago but my wife has told me in emails that she will move to Hokkaido or another country if I move close to where my son is living. I need the help of the Diet members. Please give this matter the quick attention that it deserves.
